An interactive journal for you and your horse.
Horse Listening is for anyone who believes there is more to horse-human relationship than performance or what the horse is physically capable of doing for a rider. It is for anyone that wonders if the horse has more to teach us when we learn to truly listen.
Horse Listening is a different way to connect with your horse and build a true partnership where the horse's role as teacher is considered. Humans may be skilled in shaping equine behavior or be excellent equestrians, but horses know far more about being horses than we ever will. Their world is governed by instinct, communication, energy, intention, and being present.
Body language is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to understanding what your horse is communicating. For your horse, BEHAVIOR is communication. Communication between horse and human breaks down when humans view horse behavior with judgment instead of curiosity. When you stop viewing horse behavior as good or bad, and start viewing it with curiosity and an open heart, a new level of partnership and trust with your horse will become available to you.
Horses are uniquely attuned to the energy and intention you bring to them every day. Through this guided journal, you will learn to be aware of your energy, set intention that benefits you and your horse, focus on love energy instead of fear energy, and bring gratitude to your horse every day. This is not a training manual for your horse and it is not for any specific discipline or level of experience. This is a tool kit and guide for your journey to a deeper understanding of yourself, your horse, and what partnership can look like when you fill your heart with gratitude, curiosity, and love.
Horse Listening is a full color hybrid book/journal containing over fifty pages of text with reflection questions, sixty days of guided journal pages (journal pages are two part, 120 journal pages total), prompts to help you explore horse behavior with curiosity instead of judgement, set intention, and write affirmations.
The "Time with your Horse" journal pages are designed for use before and after visiting your horse. The before page helps you find gratitude each day, set mutually beneficial intention for your time together, and be mindful of the energy you bring to your horse. It also contains a simple meditation. The after page contains question/prompts designed for reflection on your time together.
